Women of Strength Resources, Development and Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization that focuses upon the needs of women, children, at-risk youth and families in low-income and underserved communities.

Mission
To recapture the vision for rebuilding stronger family foundations — one that is conducive to bringing about change through education, inspiration and transformation.
Goal
To empower women from every walk of life by providing a support-based network system that will assist them in coping with the challenging circumstances of daily living, and ultimately improve the quality of their lives.
Approach
We create a path for the physical betterment of women by providing a forum for increased awareness and successful solutions for day-to-day management. We provide hands-on training, workshops, conferences and effective decision-making strategies that promote health and wellness, healing and wholeness, healthy relationships, wealth and balance.

05The founder

Margaretta Young

Founder & Executive Director

Margaretta Young is a leader in her own right. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Women of Strength Resources, Development and Foundation, Inc., and of the Ready For Success Institutes and Ready For Success, Inc. She is Chief Executive Officer of Garden of Eden Creations International, and serves on the advisory board for the Black Women's Breast Feeding Alliance and Project Beautiful.

She is a former Advisory Board Member of the Italian American Civil Rights League and a former President of The Business and Professional Women of the Gold Coast District of The Church of God in Christ. She is also the founder of Fountain of Hope Life Center Ministries, Inc., and an ordained Elder at Rhema Covenant Worship Center in Harrisburg, NC.

Margaretta has conducted parental workshops, business conferences and grant-writing seminars, carrying her message of hope across the city and speaking on platforms to more than 5,000 community leaders. She has written curricula for women, children and at-risk youth, as well as the Ready For Success After School and Summer Day Camp programs.

She has developed over 30 businesses and 15 new organizations. She is a wife, a mother and a proud grandmother.
